MBA Job Opening: Chief Representative for the Bank for International Settlements (BIS)


The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is an international financial institution that promotes central bank cooperation and provides banking services to central banks and international organizations. Based in Basel, Switzerland, with representative offices for Asia and the Pacific in Hong Kong SAR, and for the Americas in Mexico City, the BIS has staff from some 50 countries.
The BIS seeks to appoint the CHIEF REPRESENTATIVE for the BIS representative office for Asia and the Pacific,Hong Kong SAR. The chief Representative is expected to:
1. Increase the role of the BIS in central bank cooperation in Asia and the Pacific and proactively identifies and responds to the needs of central banks in the region;
2. Promote BIS activities and publications in the region;
3. Represent the BIS in contacts with central banks and at conferences hosted by the BIS in the region;
4. Lead and motivate the staff of the Representative Office, manage relations and information flow across the ofice, and allocate resources effectively.
The successful candidate will have:
1. At least 10 to 20 years experience and a clear record of achievement in a visible, senior position within a central bank, international financial organization, leading research institution, or private sector financial services organization.
2. MA/MS or PhD in economics, finance or business, or equivalent qualification from a university of international standing.
3. Strong analytical and administrative skills and proven leadership qualities; and
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with outstanding verbal and drafting skills in English
