Bruegel is a European think tank devoted to international economics. It was created in Brussels in early 2005 with the intention of bringing a new voice into Europe's economic policy discussions. Its governance and funding model makes Bruegel unique, being the only think tank jointly funded by EU member States and leading private corporations.
following its successful start, Bruegel aims to grow substantially over the next few years. This will involve expanding the membership and revenue base, and extending its reach in individual European countries. In order to steer this expansion and strucure its relations with a variety of different audiences, Bruegel now wishes to appoint a suitable qualified individual as Director of Development and Communications.
As the successful candidate for this newly created role you will work alongside, , and report to, Bruegel's Director. You will be rsponsible for developing and implementing a strategy for Bruegel's levels. Additionally, you will be expected to deepenrelationships with Bruegel's current members and drive new memberships and funding initiatives; while managing a development and communications team, budget and external consultants.
Essential requirements
1. A strong track record in communication with experience of providing strategic counsel on public affairs and media issues.
2. Exposure to development and fund raising.
3. Experience of the public and private sectors, both nationally and internationally.
4. Economic literacy and an interest in economic policy discussions.
5. Native or equivalent level of English required. Other languages would be desirable.
