MBA Job Opening: Head of Northern Ireland Civil Service


Salary: £140,000

The Northern Ireland Civil Service employs 25,000 people and manages an annual budget 0f 17,000. The Head of the Service is responsible for leading the programme for government across a range of economic, social, and physical infrastructure issues as well as acting in a representational role locally, nationally, and internationally.

Operating in a complex and challenging political environment, you will provide strategic direction to the NI Department as well as lead a series of Service-wide reform to deliver efficient and effective public services to the whole community.
The role also includes responsibility for the office of the first minister in which you will act as principal adviser to the first minister and deputy first minister on a wide range of economic, equality and north/south issues.
To be considered for this unique opportunity, you must be able to demonstrate 3 years experience within the last 5 years of:

Successful, effective, and visible leadership
Relevant senior management experience
Developing and implementing successful strategies in a complex and sensitive environment.
