Merlin is the only specialist UK charity which responds worldwide with vital health care and medical relief for vulnerable people caught up in natural disasters, conflict, disease and health system collapse. Each year Merlin helps more than 15 million people in up to 20 countries.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and flexible leader who will make an instant contribution to a fast growing UK based international charity in driving forward strategic initiatives during a period of ambitious development aimed at further increasing the impact of Merlin?s work.
As part of Merlin?s Senior Management Team, you will lead Merlin?s strategic development process by overseeing the development of the next three year strategy and its supporting implementation plans, accountability mechanisms and specific funding and business development initiatives. You will also oversee a range of cross-departmental initiatives and functions including internal communication, information systems and knowledge management.
Significant experience at a strategic level in a variety of fast-paced multicultural contexts including a significant proportion at senior level is essential, along with extensive people- and team-leadership skills. You will also have strong experience of change management, internal communication mechanisms and participating actively and constructively within a senior team in a leadership capacity.
A skilled and analytical project manager, you will have a developed understanding of implementing risk management systems along with a demonstrable awareness of the complex management and financial challenges facing a growing organisation, preferably within the humanitarian and international health sectors.
