When Sherry Seetram of Baldwin took a class in mergers and acquisitions as part of her Master of Business Administration degree at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, she earned an "A" for the course.

After all, Seetram's employer - First Data Corp. of Melville, where she is a program management director - was itself being acquired in a leveraged buyout at the time. The M.B.A. at C.W. Post offers flexible schedules, small classes and expert instructors with real-world experience who know what it takes to get ahead in today's business climate. The program has several options for full- and part-time study. Students who have an undergraduate degree in a field other than business can earn their M.B.A. in fewer than two years (48 credits) attending classes on Saturdays. Those who received their bachelor's degree in business within the past 5 years can take courses during the weekday evenings and on Saturdays and complete the M.B.A. program by earning only 36 credits. C.W. Post also has a partnership with Touro Law Center in Central Islip where you can earn your law degree and an M.B.A.

"The M.B.A. has helped me with a lot of the projects I've worked on," said Seetram, who completed her degree in January. "It has helped me to perform my responsibilities in a more efficient manner, and I have received more visibility in my position, too. I think my M.B.A. has definitely added a lot more value and versatility to what I do."
