Unilever Uganda Limited, under its Fair and Lovely brand is advancing an opportunity for internship at their East and Central regional offices in Nairobi, Kenya for one progressive female university student.

Through its "Make Every day count" campaign, Fair and Lovely has encouraged forward thinking students to submit a proposal indicating which career they want to pursue, and give justification in the form of in-depth knowledge and relevance.

This campaign is aimed at giving young women a platform to make smart informed choices about their careers.

In addition, the students will be given the opportunity to defend their proposals before a panel of judges which comprises young working ladies in leading multinational organisations.

Speaking of the career intitiative, Ms Margaret Namulindwa Kigozi, the Unilever marketing manager said: "The young women, each identify an area they want to pursue as a career and make the decision now to work towards achieving this career goal. They describe what tools they will need, and how they will make a difference in their communities".

"The Fair and Lovely team has visited each university and listened to what the young women had to say and encouraged them to believe in themselves in order to achieve their dream careers. What we are doing is giving them very practical career guidance. They have to think, research, write down and then present what they've decided they want to become," Kigozi said.

The multi-million campaign has already selected winning candidates; Ms Allen Kyokunzire from Kyambogo University with a commercial farmer career aspiration, Ms Joanitah Nambi from MUBS pursuing Accountancy, Ms Janet Mwenda from KIU (Human Resource Manager), Ms Prossy Bibangambah from MUST (Astronaut), Ms Maureen Mukoya of MUK-CCE Hall (Lady Judge) and Ms Doreen Kizza of MUK-Mary Stuart Hall (Biostatician).

The 1st and 2nd runner-ups will each get mobile phones and MP3s, in addition to other gift hampers from Fair and Lovely.
